Northern Trains "Pacer" DMU no. 142045 and single car 153351 form a local service from Barrow in Furness (I never did identify the train) arriving at Carnforth at 16.16. A link to the recent past is on the right in the shape of a London Midland Region upper quadrant starter signal. A link to the more distant past is in the ancient ex-Furness Railway signal box in the background!

At the time of writing (2020) the age of the stop-gap DMU "Pacer" train is all but over.
