Looking south from the platform there is a myriad of "knitting" and complex track work. At 16.12 First Transpennine Express Class 185 no. 185112 picks its way through on the 1C54 15.46 Preston to Barrow in Furness service, approaching the station for its next stop. Over on the right is a rake of derelict parcels coaches owned by West Coast Railways.
