Viewed from the A684 overbridge, 60052 "Goat Fell" approaches with the loaded limestone hoppers forming the return loads to Redcar steel works. Following trains on the branch was very easy, with a multitude of level crossings meaning that the train's progress would be slow. I always got numerous shots of the trains as they meandered through Wensleydale!
The freights would end in a month or so's time, and then that would be it, all over. Except that this was not the end, as the heritage railway set itself up some years later and trains are back, albeit seasonal passenger services.
