Rose Hill, Marple, is a terminus station that was once on a through route to Macclesfield. The attraction for many in the 1990s was that the trains serving this branchline were first generation DMUs, one of the last lines to be served by them before their withdrawal. Thus, here is Class 101 unit, set no. L835, a two-car set in Regional Railways from the former Western Region. It would have been more at home working suburban services out of Paddington!
