Former Western Region Class 101 DMU set no. L835 has left Romiley station on the 11.26 Rose Hill Marple to Manchester Piccadilly service. Immediately on leaving the station the train is taking the right-hand route towards Hyde, Guide Bridge and Ashburys. The route to the left is a more direct route to Ashburys, via Reddish. Opened in 1899, the signal box in the foreground was eventually closed in 2015. I believe it still stands pending a decision on whether it should be listed or not.
