17th June 1991

I think it's fair to say that by the early 1990s Manchester Victoria was looking pretty run down! Very little in the way of modernisation had taken place since the steam age and there was a distinct air of neglect about the place. Over at the platforms for Bury the unique Class 504 EMUs were still providing sterling services but in less than two month's time the line would be closed, for conversion to a new branch of the Manchester Metrolink tram network. So time to catch this before it all ended. Waiting on the next Bury service are cars M65450 + M77171.
