(4) Having reversed out of Blackpool Clay Driers, and onto the main line at Burngullow Junction, 37420 "The Scottish Hosteller" will shortly haul its train eastwards to St. Blazey.
As evident from the photos the weather today was pretty grotty, but nevertheless Spencer and I had a great day exploring these Cornish branches. Our luck would pick up later with the offer of a cab ride up the Parkandillack branch.
As its name suggests, 37420 was an evacuee from Scotland, it's services having been dispensed with after "Sprinterisation" on the West Highland and Far North routes. It soldiered on in service until its disposal in 2008.
