Gloucester Class 121 "bubblecar" no. W55000, the doyen of the class, is seen here at Staverton leaving with 2T10 12.00 Staverton to Totnes. This elderly and venerable diesel unit has a heritage of working west country branch lines, and in fact would have worked on my local branch line to Lyme Regis prior to its closure in November 1965. Not that I was old enough to remember!
