The beginning of the journey for me today, and it will be the end, later in the day. Class 483 no. 483008 (car nos. 228 and 128) waits at the station at 11.45 with the 11.49 Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin. I'll take the train as far as Smallbrook Junction and the Isle of Wight Steam Railway.
