4th May 2024

A day of three tours, involving one steam and no less than ten, yes ten, different diesel locomotives!
Tour number one: rebuilt Bulleid Light Pacific no. 34046 "Braunton" puts on a fine display as it exits the tunnel at 09.57, running 16 minutes early on the Saphos Tours "English Riviera Express". The train had a pair of LSL Class 37s to Taunton, where "Braunton" was put on. I would later see the 37s on the return trip at Cogload that evening. This is the 1Z36 04.24 Nantwich to Kingswear railtour, starting out at an ungodly hour. I wonder how many people have dozed off! Inter City-liveried Class 47 no. 47828 was on the rear.
