The almost-weekly timber train to and from Devon has emerged from Whiteball Tunnel at 10.21 with Colas Rail Freight Class 60 no. 60076 in charge. This is the 6V54 05.35 Chirk to Exeter Riverside, once a service destined for Teigngrace, but by now it had been curtailed at Exeter. Spring flowers have emerged in the fresh grass growing on the re-landscaped banks of the cutting. Recent work to stabilise the banks here had tidied up the infrastructure nicely and has made this location quite appealing. Give it a few years and it will all be hidden in wild undergrowth!
You'll notice that the sun was playing hide and seek with the clouds, and I got lucky for once - just!
