S&C RHTT 1: DRS Class 66s nos. 66426 and 66434 top and tail the Rail Head Treatment Train at speed north through Settle at 09.44. I'd passed them on the road at Settle Junction after they had come across from Carnforth. In fact this train, the 3J11 16.21 (10th Nov) Carlisle Kingmoor TRSMD to Carlisle Kingmoor TRSMD, had been on quite a roundabout of a journey. Down the S&C, up the "Little North Western" to Carnforth, Preston, Barrow-in-Furness, Windermere, Shap, Carlisle, Shap, Preston, Blackburn, Hellifield, Skipton, over to Carnforth again, Settle Junction, and then back up the S&C! Exhausting!
