29th April 2011

Colas Rail Calss 66 no. 66845 approaches the station at Ribblehead on the 6J37 12.29 Carlisle Yard to Chirk timber train, today made up of no less than 21 KFA bogie wagons. These were once used on the Rover car component trains between Longbridge and Swindon, but have now having had their sliding body sections removed and converted for timber traffic. I imagine that the back end of the train is still on the viaduct!
