Looking north at Rochdale Class 158 no. 158764 is approaching at 14.24 on a service from Todmorden to Manchester Piccadilly. My notes tell me that the line north of Todmorden, at Horsfall Tunnel, was closed, for engineering I think. The station at Rochdale used to have 8 platforms, but this was reduced to 3 in 1979. A fourth platform was opened in 2016. You get a sense of the decline of the station in this view.
