Southern exile! DEMU set no. 1118 stands at the station at Furnace Sidings. At the time of this visit the facilities here were quite basic, but as can be seen in the foreground footings were being prepared for a second platform, and a few years later a lovely replica London & North Western-style stone station building was erected.
