Class 25 no. 25173 worked its last train in March 1987, and by August it was here at the scrap yard. But this loco was one of the lucky ones, being sold into preservation and now to be found at the Battlefield Line, Shackerstone. But for me this engine was much more familiar as for many years it was a resident of the West Somerset Railway, in two-tone green livery and carrying the name "John F. Kennedy"!
