Although annoyingly inside and therefore not so well lit, the EMD FT unit #103 is captured in recognition of the fat that it is an important exhibit, being the forerunner of the classic American F-unit series. Built between 1939 and 1945 these 1,350hp locomotives were standard two-unit sets: "F" for "Freight", "T" for "Twin". #103 was the demonstrator unit and arrived at the museum in 1961.
