Class 25/9 no. 25909 on display at the open day. This was originally no. 25309 and was already a withdrawn locomotive, being taken out of service in 1986. Twelve of the class were selected and reclassified for some special minerals traffic that never transpired, so their life extension was brief. But for some it was long enough to secure a place in preservation, including this example, which today resides at the nearby Peak Rail heritage railway.
