Class 47/4 no. 47658 is working "The Clansman", the 10.30 Inverness to London Euston. This would have been one of the UK's longest passenger journeys. This train would travel via the West Coast Main Line, but would eventually be replaced by "The Highland Chieftain" and go via the East Coast Main Line. That trains still runs today, now formed of LNER Class 800s.
47658 is still with us (in 2020) as 47813, working for the Rail Operations Group, after having been part of the First Great Western and DRS fleets previously.
