A local engine, Inverness-based Class 47/4 no. 47617 "University of Stirling" arrives from the south with the 11.25 Edinburgh to Inverness service. 47617 lasted until 1998, by then renumbered to 47677.
To think that after the end of loco-hauled trains on the Highland Main Line these trains were replaced by 3-car DMUs! By 2020 some improvement came with the transfer of HSTs from the South West.
