At 18.13 DB Cargo Class 66 no. 66056, still in full EWS garb, runs north with the 6Z60 11.51 Parkandillack to Bescot Down Side china clay train, comprising 10 Imerys JIA bogie hoppers.
What struck me as I observed this train was the fact that at that moment in time there were no freight engines in Cornwall! Possibly for the first time ever? China clay workings have been paused for a few weeks, apparently, and the resident trip engine based at St. Blazey (66012 at the time) had been sent away light engine earlier in the week. So the weekly Bescot train, once it had been loaded at Parkandillack, was the last china clay working in Cornwall for the moment. Hopefully not for long...
