Track renewal work on the lower section of Honiton Incline brought a few engineers trains to the line this weekend. Some trains were operated by Colas Rail Freight, but they obviously had a shortage in available motive power so resorted to hiring in some Freightliner machines. This brought the unprecedented sight of the green and yellow Class 66s to "The Mule"! Parked half way up the bank is revised-livery no. 66504 with what was the 6C02 19.14 (10th May) Eastleigh Yard to Axminster, with a rake of Network Rail Autoballaster wagons. The train is pictured at 11.00, loco shut down and waiting for the call to move.
