2nd March 1990

For a short period in the early '90s there used to be a weekly household coal service from South Wales to Exmouth Junction, via Yeovil. This was always worth going out for as it brought a Class 37 to the line, never a common sight, and anyway, it was the only regular freight service to use the route. As it turns out, it would be the last such regular service! Here is Trainload Coal Class 37 no. 37213 with the 10.40 Radyr Yard to Exmouth Junction train, about to attack the climb up to the tunnel. The train would have stopped at Yeovil Junction to drop off and collect HEA coal wagons.
