"Sir Lamiel's slog!"
With "11 on" and digging in deep, ex-Southern Railway "King Arthur" 4-6-0 no. 777 "Sir Lamiel" fights against the forces of gravity to haul the "Devon Belle" rail tour up Honiton Bank past Ivy Batten's bungalow at Umborne just west of Seaton Junction.
This train, the 1Z03 08.15 London Waterloo to Eastleigh, via Exeter St. Davids, used no less than 3 steam locomotives and two diesels during the day: no. 50007 "Sir Edward Elgar" from London to Eastleigh, no. 777 from there to Exeter, no. 75069 from Exeter to Salisbury, no. 34027 "Taw Valley" from Salisbury to Eastleigh, and then Class 37 no. 37047 back to London! I caught no. 75069 on film at Axminster later that afternoon (see the Axminster gallery).
