(2) The G&Y Utah Railway is delivering a string of 8 oil tank cars to the north end of the North Yard at 15.53. GP38-2 no. 2006 and GP40 no. 3002 are on the point. I noticed an oil refinery or distribution depot here so I guess it's for that location, but sadly I couldn't wait to find out. When I first saw this train heading past North Temple station I had hoped that an opportunity was on to photograph this train from the Warm Springs Road looking back toward downtown, but it travelled through non stop so was ahead all the way during the chase! Never mind. It is stopped here waiting, I presume, to propel the cars back toward the yard.
