9th July 2019 - Salt Lake City, UT
Grant Tower is the location, the point where once UP, D&RGW and the WP all met on their way into and out of the city. Today it's all Union Pacific, plus the Utah Transport Authority's "FrontRunner" commuter trains between Ogden and Provo. The tower itself was demolished in the spring of 2018.

My first photo at this location was an interesting one: a track recording coach hauled by a single General Electric ET44AH no. 2612. It's seen here at Grant Tower at 15.02. The vehicle at the end of this short train is Track Inspection Vehicle EC-4, which I believe was supplied by Plasser and Theurer in Austria.

The box car at the front end is no. 910701, an Unmanned Geometry Box Car housing equipment that detects flaws and geometry issues in the track.

The train slowly passes me by and comes to a halt at North Temple station just around the corner, whilst part of Salt Lake City downtown and the surrounding mountains form the backdrop.
