(1) Almost weekly First Great Western have been releasing HSTs back to the lessee, some of which have been transferred for re-use with Scotrail, but others just go into store for an uncertain future. Case in point, this train is a 5Z43 10.08 Laira T&RSMD to Long Marston empty stock working, in actual fact made up entirely of buffet cars no longer required. The buffet cars and power cars have been de-branded and will sit in storage at Long Marston until somebody works out what to do with them. Will that be re-use, or scrap? The train, lead by 43193 and trailed by 43197, passes East Cliff at 10.41.
