(2) Pivoting around from my position on the platform, I now take this view of 37670 and 37673 heading away on the china clay "Silver Bullets" train from Burngullow to Caledonian Paper's Irvine base in south west Scotland. The term "Silver Bullets" was not an official name, but instantly identified the train whenever you spoke to anyone. Mind you, the tanks did not stay silver for long, gradually adopting a coating of general grime that gave them an altogether different look. So I am pleased to have these images, and others, of this train whilst it still looked respectable.
And those 37s? Wonderful! Sadly, both have since met their maker. 37670 in 2018, after a long and protracted period of dereliction, and 37673 ten years earlier in 2008.
