21st Feb 1997

A Virgin Cross Country HST bursts out of Parsons Tunnel at 16.07, heading an unrecorded westbound train. 43063 "Maiden Voyager" is leading, which seems a little ironic to me when you consider the name of the fleet of new trains that would soon replace the HST on Virgin. I do wonder what people would have said had they known just how uncomfortable the new Voyagers would be! Although you can't see it, 43068 was on the other end.
Despite being February there was plenty of bright winter sun to enjoy today, the best conditions for photography. I don't remember now but you could be certain that it would be fairly bracing here though!
