Having stopped at the station for a few minutes 37401 “Mary Queen Of Scots” is about to depart with the 2C41 14.37 Barrow-in-Furness to Carlisle train. The upper quadrant starter signal is off and the line ahead clear.

This station really feels like a working museum with so much original railway infrastructure still in place, and with some loco-hauled services running nearly every day this has to be a special place to recommend.
