6V70! This was a train that brought me out as often as possible with my camera. A long-standing service, this train, at this time the 08.57 Cliffe Vale to St. Blazey, was used to transport one of Cornwall's finest products, china clay, to and from the Potteries. 6V70's consist would vary considerably, made up of a variety of vans and hoppers over the years, according to the type of traffic being carried. This particular train stopped running a few years ago, replaced by a new service running Wednesdays only from Bescot.
Today the train is pleasingly being delivered to Cornwall by 60006 "Scunthorpe Ironmaster", the loco carrying the attractive British Steel blue colours and markings.
