Bridgwater & Highbridge, Somerset
Bridgwater station is still pretty well intact, and its goods yard is still in place, and in use, for the delivery and removal of nuclear flasks from Hinkley Point Power Station, which are brought in by road. This is quite remarkable when you consider the sensitivity of this traffic and the fact that this is a built-up, mostly residential area. For a while the goods yard was also used to dispatch other shipments, as some of my photos show. But for the moment the flask traffic is what keeps it going, once a week.
