Cornish Engineers Trains No. 1! On Saturday two DB Cargo-operated engineers trains operated down to Lostwithiel, for some track laying work (on the freight-only Fowey branch) and both trains returned today, on the Sunday. Typically, they did not keep to their usual schedule and when I realised that this one was running early I had to make a quick dash up to Creech to catch it, with minutes to spare!
Running 138 minutes early, and passing at 10.42, DB Cargo Class 66 no. 66080 (wearing original EWS livery with DB branding) takes 10 Network Rail Autoballasters back home on the 6W05 08.32 Lostwithiel - Westbury Down T. C. The second Cornish engineers trains was seen later at Curry Rivel (Wick) - see that gallery for the photos.
