21st June 2001 - Creech St. Michael, Somerset.
The bridge on the road leading into the canal car park has always offered good views west and east, although in recent times the view east has become a little more restricted. Here is a nice, wider view of EWS Class 60 no. 60010 at 16.09, on the 6V70 Cliffe Vale to St. Blazey china clay train. 6V70 was the most popular and reliable freight at the time, and I always tried to go out for it as often as I could, which was not as often as I would have liked! Once the domain of Laira 37s, the Class 60 was a worthy successor.
