Maroon "Western" D1015 "Western Champion" storms past Creech at 10.26 on the 1Z15 06.25 Tyseley to Kingswear "The Devonian" railtour, operated by Vintage Trains. Their own Class 47 no. 47773 is tucked in behind the "Western". D1015 was carrying the number D1017 and the name "Western Warrior" on one side.
The sun is out now but less than 10 minutes later the drizzle started, spoiling a shot of West Coast Railway Class 47 no. 47245 hauling 5029 "Nunney Castle" on their way to Plymouth. With another railtour due an hour later this was certainly an exceptionally interesting moment on the main line today.
