We are just over a month away from the end of long distance passenger service with the High Speed Train on the old Western Region. With just 8 or so full-rake sets in service with First Great Western just a handful of services are entrusted to the Inter City 125!
At 16.57 the 1C86 15.03 London Paddington to Penzance is approaching Creech with green power car 43005 leading. 43160 was on the other end. As you can see, we are 160 miles from London. And yes, full use of the horn was made prior to appearing around the bend, this "W" sign also indicating that there is a footpath crossing ahead for up trains.
