14th Sept 1989

Now attached to its stock, Northern Ireland Railways 111 Class no. 112 "Northern Counties" sits in the platform and will wait to return home on the 13.00 Dublin Connolly to Belfast "Enterprise". I was lucky to be able to sample dining service on the "Enterprise" on another occasion, between Belfast to Dublin, complete with silver service at the table in the traditional manner. In fact I recall it being one of the last occasions that such service was provided. My polite request for a souvenir CIE-marked tea pot was similarly met with politeness, but still firmly no!
