Large-logo Class 47/4 no. 47479 is working a local service - the 13.30 Exeter St. Davids to Paignton. The local spotters on the right take a note of its number. Loco hauled local services were nearly at an end, so this was a scene soon to disappear. As was 47479 five years later - it was cut up in January 1993 after suffering damage after a collision with an engineering train in Cornwall in September 1992.
