16th July 1983

I always thought that there was something special about "Peak" nameplates. More steam-era than diesel-era perhaps? At least back in 1983 they were mostly still on the locomotives as I think there would later be a problem with theft of some Class 45 nameplates. Here is the nameplate belonging to Class 45/0 no. 46006 "Honourable Artillery Company" during a pause at platform 5 whilst working the 1M83 16.00 Penzance to Liverpool Lime Street train. The crest looks like it has received a bit of a bash at some point.
