There were plenty Brush Type Fours on shed at the time of my visit, staple power for trains to and from the south. Here is Inter City main line-liveried no. 47469 "Glasgow Chamber of Commerce" "on shed" and waiting for the call to duty. A local Inverness-based engine, 47469 was withdrawn in March 1989 and scrapped in Glasgow by the end of the year.
