The down home signal stands sentinel as former Arriva Trains Wales Class 175 no. 175113 passes through Ferryside station non-stop at 12.14 with the 1W61 11.08 Milford Haven to Manchester Piccadilly service. The 1880s-built signal box is located to the left, awkwardly under the modern footbridge.
The level crossing guards access to the small boat club and the beach, from where pedestrians can catch a ferry over to Llansteffan, across the estuary. The craft used is an odd-looking amphibious "Sealegs" boat, that as it arrives on shore is then driven onto the beach on wheels.
