This hybrid first generation DMU set is stabled in the east-facing bay platform. It comprises Class 101 car no. 54085 and Class 108 car no. 53986. A few years earlier a friend of mine and myself bunked the DMU depot in Lincoln (yes, I know, we were living the dream back then!). Knowing that we were unlikely to be welcomed, we walked in through the main entrance to the foreman's office and predictably we were requested to leave forthwith. So we did, via the rear entrance to the depot, collecting all of the numbers we needed as we went. Job done! The depot was full of units like this. Happy memories of innocent times.
