(1) 10 Days to go! With the long distance High Speed Train era on the Great Western Main Line drawing to a close, now is the time to get our last images of these iconic trains on a route that they had made their own for over 40 years.
Today, at 11.28, the 1A81 07.41 Penzance to London Paddington service has produced two celebrity power cars: 43185 "Great Western", wearing its BR InterCity colours, and 43172 "Harry Patch - The last survivor of the trenches". The train, despite its mixed-up set of coaches, looks superb in the spring sun and verdant surroundings.
