I've moved up the bank towards the motorway to look back down on the line. The view belies the constant drone of traffic on the highway just behind me. If only we could turn the clock back to the 1960s! It would have been a much more peaceful place then.

At 10.04 88010 "Aurora" pulls the 4S43 06.16 Daventry DRS (Tesco) - Mossend Euroterminal Stobart Rail/Tesco intermodal up hill towards the summit at Shap. This was a long and well-loaded train today, despite the empty flat visible behind the loco.
