This is Peradeniya Junction Station Cabin, standing opposite the main station building. From when the box dates from I do not know, but the station opened in 1867. The signalling and associated infrastructure all dates from the period of British occupation, and as a result everything looks so familiar. The station became a junction when the line to Gampola was opened in 1873. It's a triangular junction and since my visit in 2007 a platform is now open on each of the three sides.
