(1) Santa Fe Junction is a top train watching location, with railroads converging from all directions, on the ground and on high-level bridges. In this view at 12.05 a loaded coal train is held on the bridge above as a UP loaded coal train curves around below, with two AC4400CW units, nos. 6861 and 6653 in charge. Curiously there was a BNSF SD70MAC, no. 9627, bringing up the rear. The Santa Fe Junction Tower is just off to the left, no longer an operating tower but used by the railroad as a maintenance crew base.
