I have always been fascinated with freight cars still carrying the markings of their former owners, many of whom have been absent on the railroad network for decades. These two grain cars stood out for me as a west-bound manifest passed me by at the Railroad Avenue grade crossing in North Kansas City at 10.55.

JDSX 547 carrying Illinois Central Gulf markings and an ex-SOO Line car are attached to each other as the train slowly rolls by.
