Kansas City Southern has its KC facilities at Front Street Shops, and nearby we found this colourfully-painted MP15 no. 4336 stabled. The KCS "Southern Belle" livery is certainly more eye-catching than the previous standard grey. or white, scheme used by the railroad. It's caught here dozing at 12.18.
All the more surprising to me was this former SOO Line GP38-2 no. 4438, confirming Canadian Pacific's presence in the city. I honestly did not believe that the Soo Line colours would still be around. Soo Line was CP's major US subsidiary, and this engine shows that the old image is still clinging on. Lovely to see this unit, as it happens, quietly ticking over waiting for the next job.
