Looking over the bridge parapet on the A9006 at 08.25, we see 67030 heading the 1S25 21.16 London Euston to Inverness Caledonian Sleeper service, on its final approached to Inverness. This is the site of the Culloden Moor station, later the sidings for Highland Bitumen (closed down 1988). Engineers' sidings remain here, including a headshunt onto the viaduct. The double track section to Inverness starts here. You have to be careful on this road bridge, especially during the morning commuter hours, as there is not much clearance! Ordinarily this train would now be in the hands of two Class 73/9s, but as one or two are out of service, Caledonian Sleeper have had to hire in the DB 67.
