To the occasional sound of a cuckoo far away in a distant wood, Virgin Trains East Coast HST, lead by 43315, and trailed by 43299, rounds the curve as it begins to exit Nairn Viaduct. After leaving the double track section at Culloden Moor and beginning the journey over the viaduct, trains dip down into what is sometimes known as the "Culloden Hole", before going back uphill across the viaduct and onwards as the train curves away. The train is 1E13 07.55 Inverness to London Kings Cross and the time is 08.03. I got this view from the lane, illustrating that fact that tree clearances have made this view possible.
